Description

The Communication Specialist is responsible for developing, editing, and delivering high-quality communication materials that support PPS Group’s strategic objectives. The role requires strong writing and editing capabilities, proficiency in video editing, and experience in internal communications to enhance employee engagement and organisational alignment. Additionally, the position demands excellent organisational and administrative skills to efficiently manage multiple projects, deadlines, and communication channels. The Communication Specialist is also responsible for preparing reports and tracking key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with organisational goals

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit, and proofread communication materials, including newsletter and content for the intranet
• Ensure consistency with PPS Group’s brand voice, tone, and writing style guide
• Plan, record and edit simple video content for internal audiences
• Collaborate with stakeholders to produce engaging multimedia content for campaigns and initiatives
• Support the design and execution of internal communication strategies
• Manage communication channels such as intranet, employee newsletters and announcements
• Contribute to initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and organisational culture
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of messaging
• Provide communication support for events, projects and campaigns

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent tertiary or NQF 6 qualification in Public Relations/ Communications or related field
• 3-5 years’ experience in Communications/writing or journalism
• Knowledge and understanding of communications principles and practices
• Knowledge and experience in financial services and internal communication would be advantageous
• Creative writing with a focus on copyrighting and editing
• Video and Photography skills
