Description

The purpose of this position is to assist with the operation and monitoring of downstream equipment within the Cream Pack Ampak, Plastic 2L ESL, and Steri Plastic production areas. The role ensures smooth production flow and adherence to quality and safety standards in a food production/FMCG environment.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation: Operate, monitor, and control allocated downstream packaging equipment and activities on the production line
• Start-up & Shutdown: Prepare, start up, monitor, maintain, and shut down packaging equipment within the scope of authority
• Problem Solving: Monitor critical parameters and solve problems as they arise
• Data Capture: Record data accurately on control sheets
• Maintenance Support: Prepare the work area for maintenance and reinstate after maintenance is complete; issue job cards for non-scheduled maintenance
• Schedules: Complete daily and weekly production maintenance schedules
• Quality Control: Sample and test packaging quality
• Safety & Compliance:
• Maintain safety, health, and environmental standards
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Work in a safe manner at all times
• Ensure downstream plant cleanliness
• Adhere to energy-saving principles

Qualifications

• Education: Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
• Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience in FMCG/Food Production, applying job-related concepts, techniques, and processes at the required level
• Assessments: Must complete a diagnostic competency assessment
• Language: Fluent in Business English
• Work Schedule: Must be willing and able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
