Learner – Plant Maintenance(At Eskom)

Description

This is a 2-year internship/learning programme where successful applicants will sign a contract and receive a stipend. You’ll be placed in plant maintenance environments (like power stations or technical sites) to gain hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and use measuring equipment
• Work with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation tools to take accurate measurements.
• Read and interpret technical drawings
• Understand component drawings, tolerances, and engineering specifications.
• Perform maintenance-related tasks
• Assist with plant maintenance activities under supervision while following correct procedures.
• Maintain quality standards
• Ensure all work meets required quality and safety standards. Apply basic quality systems
• Follow processes that ensure consistency and compliance in engineering work.
• Work with technical specifications and standards
• Carry out tasks according to international engineering codes and standards.
• Use basic hand tools safely and effectively
• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors
• Plan and organize tasks at a basic level
• Use computers for technical or reporting purposes
• Work reliably and under pressure when needed
• Show initiative and willingness to learn
• Adapt to changes in the work environment

Qualifications

• S4 in Mechatronics/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics (C&I)
• Electrical (Power Plant) option will be an added advantage
