Analyst – Supervision: Investment Providers Department

Description

This role involves supporting the supervision and regulation of the Alternative Investment industry by helping monitor compliance with legislation, assisting in investigations of complaints, and contributing to the development of regulatory frameworks. The analyst also compiles reports, supports oversight activities, and ensures proper handling of industry-related issues. It is a regulatory-focused position that requires strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with knowledge of financial markets and investment instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and improving the regulatory framework for the Alternative Investment industry
  • Support the supervision and monitoring of compliance with relevant legislation
  • Assist with investigations of complaints related to unregistered Alternative Investment business
  • Monitor compliance of Alternative Investment managers with applicable laws and regulations
  • Ensure complaints are handled according to established guidelines and procedures
  • Compile reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support administrative and operational activities related to industry supervision
  • Contribute to maintaining an effective and efficient supervision framework for the sector

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following:
  • Commerce
  • Law
  • Investments
  • Business Science
  • 2–3 years’ experience in any of the following areas:
  • Investment or corporate banking
  • Corporate finance
  • Asset management industry
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Financial markets
  • Financial instruments
  • Advantageous (not required but beneficial):
  • Experience in Alternative Investments transactions
  • Risk or audit experience within a treasury or banking environment
  • Additional competencies:
  • Good computer skills (MS Office)
  • Familiarity with workflow systems (advantage)
