Cape Herb & Spice is searching for a qualified Forklift Driver committed to safe operational practices, beginning each day with comprehensive inspections and accurate documentation of the forklift's condition. Drivers must inspect the forklift thoroughly, ensuring it functions safely to reduce workplace risks. Maintaining accurate records of these inspections is key to upholding the company's safety standards and ensuring a secure workspace. In addition to daily inspections, drivers must operate the forklift responsibly, reporting any safety or maintenance concerns to their supervisor promptly. Forklift drivers will assist with picking and moving items as necessary to support efficient workflow within the warehouse, contributing to an organized and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials safely
• Perform daily inspections of the forklift and report any maintenance needs
• Organize and stack products in designated areas as per company guidelines
• Follow safety protocols to avoid accidents and prevent damage to goods
• Check inventory and assist in tracking stock movement as needed
• Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth and timely workflows
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the work area and forklift
• Assist with general warehouse tasks, such as packaging and labeling, as required
• Adhere to shift schedules and complete tasks within assigned timelines

Qualifications

• Matric qualification or equivalent
• Valid Forklift license with at least 1 year of forklift driving experience
• Ability to read and understand job cards and filling sheets
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in numeracy
• Physical ability to lift and carry items up to 25 kg
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform well under pressure
• Willingness to work shifts and handle overtime as needed
