Currently we are looking for a Junior Asset Analyst in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As a Junior Asset Analyst, you will be responsible to act as a specialist support to the Finance and Asset Management team with a focus on financial modelling, forecasting, and planning. The candidate will support the Asset Managers and Asset Analysts in the daily management of all commercial, contractual, regulatory, and reporting obligations of a portfolio of Scatec power plants in both the construction and operational phases.

Responsibilities

• • Financial model updating and analysis: Assessing trends, forecasting performance, and analyzing project performance
• • Utilizing tools like Excel, Tableau, and PowerBI for data visualization and management recommendations
• • Dashboard management: Tracking real-time financial and operational performance
• • Lenders Relationship Management: Calculating and monitoring debt covenants and financial metrics
• • Day-to-day operations: Aligning project activities with financing agreements and monitoring payments against financial model and budgets
• • Accounting & Revenue Management: Reviewing electricity tariffs, monitoring monthly production figures, and investigating anomalies
• • Coordinating with Finance team for timely and accurate collection of electricity revenue and allocation of invoices and costs

Qualifications

• • University Degree in Finance, Business science, data analytics, or equivalent
• • Knowledge/experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Power Bi is beneficial)
• • Proficiency in cashflow analysis, projections, and budget tracking
• • Financial modelling/data analytics certification (FMVA®)
• • 3 years of experience in finance, financial planning, analysis, modelling, transaction advising, corporate finance, equity research, utility-scale energy
• • Experience in project finance or financial services in the Independent Power Producer renewable energy sector
• • Experience in renewable energies in the global energy mix
• • Experience in pushing data boundaries and developing novel approaches
