BDO South Africa seeks ACCA Trainee Accountants for its Financial Services (FS) division. The 3-year traineeship offers candidates hands-on audit experience, exposure to a range of clients, and the opportunity to develop into a Chartered Certified Accountant. Trainees will work closely with BDO's FS team, gaining expertise in Banking, Insurance, Asset Management, and Funds industries.

Responsibilities

• Perform audits on financial statements and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Assist in planning, executing, and finalizing audit engagements
• Evaluate internal controls and identify areas for improvement
• Work closely with clients to gather financial information and documentation
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and address queries professionally
• Analyze financial data and prepare accurate audit reports
• Identify discrepancies and provide recommendations for corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), ACCA, and SAICA guidelines
• Stay updated with changes in auditing standards and financial regulations
• Collaborate with audit teams, managers, and partners on various engagements
• Participate in training sessions and provide support to peers
• Actively work towards meeting the competencies required for ACCA or SAICA qualification
• Take initiative in self-learning and improving technical skills

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting Degree/Honours Degree from an ACCA-accredited university
• Auditing as a subject (preference for Honours Degree)
• Advanced Auditing as a professional module
• South African citizenship is required
