Description

The South Deep Education Trust (SDET) is inviting students to apply for their 2025 bursary programme for Diploma and Degree studies in any field. The bursary covers tuition fees, textbooks, equipment, accommodation, laptop allowance, and a monthly stipend. Students will also receive personal development assistance, mentorship support, and tutoring. To apply, applicants must have a total household income of no more than R350,000 per annum, reside in a South Deep host community or Labour Sending Area, not be dependent on Gold Fields employees, be currently in Matric or have completed Matric, study or intend to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa in 2025, and have no other existing bursaries, scholarships, or funding assistance.

Responsibilities

• Bursary recipients are encouraged to engage in volunteer work in their community

Qualifications

• Household income: Must NOT exceed R350,000
• Location: Must reside in or near areas tied to the South Deep Education Trust (e,g, Westonaria, Bekkersdal, etc)
• Education: Must currently be in Matric (2024) or have completed Matric
• Field of Study: Must intend to study towards a Diploma or Degree in any field
• Other Funding: Must NOT have existing bursaries, scholarships, or other funding assistance unless specified
• Application Submission: Must submit necessary documentation (including Matric Certificate) and meet a minimum overall average of 65%
