Description

The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) is offering financial aid for the study fees of security officers and their legal dependents. This bursary is intended for accredited and registered institutions recognized by the Department of Higher Education in South Africa. It forms part of PSiRA's Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiative in the Security Sector.

Responsibilities

• Maximum Financial Aid: Up to R25,000 (VAT inclusive) per year for certificate courses at TVET institutions
• Up to R45,000 (VAT inclusive) per year for undergraduate diplomas and degrees
• Exclusions: Postgraduate studies are not funded
• Duration: The financial aid covers tuition fees for the 2025 academic year only and is provided for a 12-month full-time period
• Previously Funded Learners: Must reapply and submit academic results and a statement reflecting any outstanding amounts for the new year

Qualifications

• Employment/Registration: The applicant must work in the private security sector or have a legal parent registered with PSiRA as a security officer
• Citizenship: Both the parent and learner must be South African citizens
• Age Requirement: The learner must be aged between 19 and 35 years old
• Education: The learner must have completed Grade 12 and be enrolled at an accredited learning institution
• Provinces: Open to candidates from all provinces within South Africa
