Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled GIS Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and analyzing spatial data, creating high-quality maps, performing spatial analysis, and supporting various GIS-related tasks across the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), proficiency with GIS software, and the ability to work with complex datasets to provide meaningful insights.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyse, and interpret geographic data from various sources, including satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and field data
• Create, update, and maintain GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy, quality, and completeness
• Develop and produce high-quality maps, visualizations, and reports to support decision-making processes
• Perform spatial analysis, modelling, and data processing to identify trends, patterns, and relationships
• Collaborate with various markets to understand their GIS needs and provide technical support and training
• Customize tools to improve data handling and automate workflows
• Stay current with new GIS technologies, software updates, and industry best practices
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations
• Conduct fieldwork to collect geospatial data using GPS and other surveying tools, as required

Qualifications

• Geoinformatics/ Geospatial Science degree or Masters
• SAGC registration preferred
