Description

As a Financial Accounting Intern at the Railway Safety Regulator (RSR), you will participate in a structured 24-month internship program designed to provide hands-on experience in various aspects of financial accounting within the organization. This program aims to enhance your professional skills and prepare you for future career opportunities in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the budgeting process by collecting and analyzing financial data, and assist in forecasting future financial performance
  • Accounts Management: Help manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments
  • Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and information
  • Compliance and Regulation: Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualifications: Applicants must have a National Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • A Postgraduate Qualification will be advantageous
  • Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen
  • Prior Internship Experience: Must not have previously participated in an internship program at any public or private institution
