We are looking for 3 Security Guards to join the team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct access and egress control in the area of operation
• Utilise and maintain personal, basic, and advanced security equipment
• Monitor and control all security systems and signals in a control room Identify and respond to emergency signals and situations under all conditions
• Guard and patrol areas of operation
• Conduct security threat assessments in areas of operation in support of the protection function
• Perform evacuations and emergency drills during emergencies
• Perform administrative duties such as report writing, and the completion of occurrence books and pocketbooks
• Maintain the required levels of Competency To Work – in fitness and in the handling and use of firearms
• Must be able to communicate clearly and efficiently

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 certificate
• Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) Grade C qualification and registered with PSIRA
• Proficiency in the handling of firearms (ie, 9 mm pistol, semi-automatic rifle, and shotgun)
• Experience in operating security systems or, where applicable, be in possession of equivalent qualifications or experience
• Possess a South African driver’s licence
• Security or law enforcement experience
• Tactical security experience and/or training
• Proficiency in MS Office / Computer skills

• Further requirements are as follows: Sound knowledge and understanding of applicable legislation including, but not limited to, the National Key Point (NKP) Act and regulations, Firearms Control Act, Criminal Procedure Act, PSIRA Act, as well as the policies, procedures, and operational instructions of the Mint regarding the use of firearms Proficiency in English.
