Description

The Truck Driver will be responsible for maintaining trees in road reserves, parks, traffic islands, and other City-owned open spaces and facilities using specialised equipment such as mechanical stump grinders and chippers. This role aims to enhance the environment and provide quality service to the communities in Region 6.

Responsibilities

• Control all vehicles and equipment allocated to the function
• Adhere to principles and guidelines of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993)
• Prepare sites for new developments
• Safely operate and maintain mechanical stump grinders and chippers
• Follow operator manual instructions for equipment maintenance

Qualifications

• Grade 10
• Relevant working experience as a truck driver
• Valid Code EC1 driving licence
• Valid PrDP
• Physically fit and healthy
• Must undergo a criminal record check (fingerprints taken by Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost)
• Willing and able to work shifts
