The City of Cape Town is seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, technology integration, and strategic project management. The ideal candidate will optimize processes, implement data-driven solutions, and lead change initiatives to enhance organizational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement initiatives to enhance the process, system and people capability across the organization; Drive the adoption of continuous improvement frameworks and promote a culture of continuous improvement
• Technology Integration: Identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation, and data analytics in process improvement; Evaluate and implement software tools or systems to support continuous improvement efforts; Contribute in terms of software specification development and selection
• Project Management: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables; Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and timely delivery
• Performance Measurement and Reporting: Define and monitor best practice Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); Quantify and report on the financial impact of improvement projects and conduct regular performance reviews is measured by the effectiveness of change implementation, employee engagement and sustained performance improvements
• Change Management: Plan and execute strategies that support smooth transition during organizational change; This includes stakeholder engagement, communication, training, and impact analysis to ensure high adoption rates and minimal resistance

Qualifications

• A relevant BSc or BEng (Industrial)
• Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience
• Valid driver’s license (Code EB)
