The EPWP: Environmental Health Assistants programme provides participants with hands-on experience in promoting public health and environmental safety within communities. As an Environmental Health Assistant, you will work alongside qualified health practitioners to monitor and improve environmental conditions, assist in health awareness campaigns, and support community-based environmental health initiatives. This opportunity aims to create temporary employment while building skills in environmental health, hygiene, and safety management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in health education campaigns focusing on hygiene, sanitation, and disease prevention
• Support environmental inspections and monitoring activities in communities
• Help identify and report potential environmental health hazards

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate (or equivalent)
• Good communication skills in English and at least one local language
• Interest in environmental health, public health, and community wellbeing
