Description

The Finance Internship provides exposure to municipal financial administration processes, focusing on supply chain practices, expenditure reporting, and financial compliance. Interns will gain hands-on experience in applying the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), ensuring accountability, confidentiality, and transparency in financial operations. This role also includes training in office and document management, financial reporting, and monitoring of the unit’s operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with procurement processes in line with Supply Chain Management (SCM) policies and the MFMA
• Support financial reporting to ensure accuracy, accountability, and transparency
• Maintain and manage general ledger entries and reconciliations
• Provide assistance with expenditure tracking and budget monitoring

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting
• Finance or Financial Administration
