The Trainee Accountant role is intended for first-year trainees starting their SAICA training contract in 2026. The position is based within the SNG Grant Thornton Assurance division. The training contract is designed to help candidates achieve SAICA competencies required to register as Chartered Accountants. The role provides generalist expertise and experience across a wide range of commercial sectors. Candidates will gain exposure to various client industries, including listed entities and entrepreneurial start-ups. The position offers hands-on experience with clients and management. An open-door policy with managers and partners supports learning and collaboration. Mentorship and guidance are provided throughout the training period.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold an Honours, PGDA, CTA, or equivalent qualification from a SAICA-recognised university
