Description

The Competition Commission is offering a 24-month Cadet Training Programme in Legal Studies for high-achieving graduates with an LLB degree, newly admitted as an attorney or advocate, and up to 6 months of post-admission experience. Cadets will gain hands-on experience in competition law and economics, develop legal, analytical, and research skills, and contribute to the Commission’s Vision 2030 of a competitive, dynamic, deconcentrated, and inclusive economy.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience in competition law research and analysis
• Contribute to legal projects aligned with Vision 2030
• Participate in training and development programmes to build professional skills
• Support initiatives promoting diversity, inclusion, and public interest

Qualifications

• South African Citizen
• LLB degree, newly admitted as an attorney or advocate
• Strong academic record (70%+ average advantageous) with notable achievements
• Maximum of 6 months post-admission work experience in a related field
• Evidence of proactive engagement beyond academics; computer literate, team player, strong interpersonal, writing, and analytical skills
