The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) Bursary for 2026 is a strategic initiative under the JSE Empowerment Fund (JEF), aimed at nurturing South Africa’s future leaders in the financial and technology sectors. This bursary supports academically strong, previously disadvantaged students who are pursuing full-time studies in select disciplines at approved universities. The programme reflects the JSE’s commitment to education, diversity, and empowerment, offering financial support to students in their 2nd, 3rd, or Honours year of study. Responsibilities

• Submit a complete application with all required supporting documents including an affidavit
• Maintain a minimum academic aggregate of 70% throughout the bursary period
• Participate in any development or mentorship activities offered by the JSE
• Uphold the values of the JSE and demonstrate commitment to academic and personal growth
• Ensure compliance with all bursary terms and conditions including eligibility criteria

Qualifications

• Must be a South African citizen from a designated group
• Must be enrolled full-time in 2nd, 3rd, or Honours year of study
• Must be studying towards a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Information Technology, Informatics, Data Analytics, Economics, Finance, or Accounting
• Must be registered at one of the specified South African universities
• Must have a combined household income not exceeding R650 000 per annum
• Must have achieved a minimum aggregate of 70%
