Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) invites suitably qualified, unemployed South African graduates between the ages of 18 and 35 to apply for the Young Professional-in-Training (YPiT) Programme — a two-year structured graduate development programme aimed at equipping young professionals with workplace skills, institutional knowledge, and practical exposure. The programme offers a blend of theoretical learning and hands-on experience to help participants develop a solid foundation for future employment opportunities. Progress is monitored every six months to ensure personal growth, alignment with career goals, and the achievement of TFR’s operational objectives

Responsibilities

• Complete a 24-month structured development programme comprising both classroom and on-the-job training
• Gain exposure to various business units and operational environments within Transnet Freight Rail
• Participate in projects and assignments that develop analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Receive mentorship and performance assessments to track progress throughout the programme
• Contribute to TFR’s mission of delivering efficient, sustainable, and reliable freight rail services

Qualifications

• A National Diploma, BTech, or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 6 or 7) in one of the following fields:
• Internal Auditing
• Accounting / BCom Accounting
• Auditing / Taxation / Finance
• Information Management
• Computer Science / Statistics / Mathematics
