This is an entry-level, contract role for a Graduate Engineer to join Lesedi's Design Group. The purpose is to gain hands-on experience in the roll-out of design work on various projects, with the specific aim of acquiring the knowledge necessary for professional registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa).

Responsibilities

• Technical Competence & Learning: Apply engineering principles to produce accurate designs, calculations, and reports while learning new tools and methodologies
• Project Delivery & Execution: Contribute to project milestones, complete tasks within deadlines, and effectively document all work
• Professional Development: Actively participate in training and mentorship to progress toward ECSA registration
• Teamwork & Collaboration: Work effectively under senior engineers and communicate clearly with colleagues and clients
• Safety, Quality & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure quality assurance in all work produced
• Innovation & Initiative: Show creativity in problem-solving and contribute ideas to improve processes

Qualifications

• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (BEng or BSc Eng)
• Experience: Entry Level; Practical industrial or engineering experience is an added advantage
• Technical: Must be computer literate
• Competencies:
• Knowledge: Fundamental understanding of engineering principles, theories, and relevant regulations/codes
• Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and planning skills; Attention to detail is critical
• Behaviors: Deadline-driven, self-motivated, proactive, collaborative, and able to work well in multidisciplinary teams
