Description

This role is responsible for developing and implementing machine learning solutions that integrate seamlessly with the company's product space. The engineer will design, build, and deploy models to address complex business problems, working closely with data scientists, software engineers, and stakeholders. A key requirement is familiarity with the company's Integrated Management System, including quality and information security standards (ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop machine learning models and algorithms
• Perform data preprocessing, analysis, and feature engineering
• Evaluate model performance and tune hyperparameters to optimize the model
• Implement and deploy machine learning models into production
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements
• Conduct code reviews and debug issues in models and data pipelines to ensure optimal performance
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in machine learning

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a machine learning role
• Technical Skills:
• Frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn
• Data Tools: Pandas, NumPy, SciPy; data labelling tools like Roboflow or CVat
• Deployment: FastAPI, Docker, RESTful APIs
• Version Control: Git, DVC
• Cloud Platforms: AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure (machine learning aspects)
• Algorithms: Understanding of regression, classification, clustering, and neural networks
• Behavioural Skills: Analytical thinking, problem-solving, effective communication
• Compliance: Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701, POPIA, and GDPR
