Alterra Platinum is offering an Engineering Learnership Programme at its Mogalakwena Mine for unemployed candidates seeking hands-on technical training in the mining industry. This 18.2 learnership provides structured theoretical and practical training leading to a nationally recognized Artisan qualification, with opportunities available in trades such as Electrician, Boilermaker, Mechanical Fitter, Rigger, Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrician, Millwright, and more.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured off-the-job and workplace training as part of the learnership programme
• Gain practical, hands-on experience in the selected engineering trade ( Electrician, Boilermaker, Fitter, Rigger, Diesel Mechanic)
• Follow all safety standards, procedures, and operational guidelines at Mogalakwena Mine
• Complete all required assessments, training modules, and learning activities toward achieving an Artisan qualification
• Work under supervision while learning to operate tools, equipment, and machinery relevant to the trade

Qualifications

• Matric/ Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Mathematics Literacy), Physical Science and English (all with minimum 40% pass)
• N3 or higher with all subjects as per the specific Discipline requirements below
• Boilermaker Plater: Plating & Structural Steelwork/Welders Theory and Plating, Structural & Steelwork Drawings
• Electrical: Electrical Trade Theory /Electrotechnology/ Electrotechnics and Industrial Electronics, or Engineering Drawings
