Description

The Pattern Designer role at The Foschini Group involves creating accurate, production-ready garment patterns using the Lectra system, ensuring designs meet brand, fabric, and factory requirements. The position works closely with designers, sample rooms, technologists, and factories, handling grading, measurements, fit sessions, and technical queries. It requires strong pattern-making expertise, garment construction knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines within a fast-paced, fashion-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate garment patterns using the Lectra system based on design and production requirements
• Consider fabric shrinkage, factory needs, and bulk production processes
• Liaise with designers, technologists, and sample rooms to align on specifications
• Measure garments, perform grading, and attend fit sessions
• Address and resolve technical queries from factories

Qualifications

• Matric
• Has proven competency in Pattern Making & Grading (3-5 years)
• Experience with the Lectra Windows system would be advantageous
• Garment Construction Knowledge
