Description

The Business Data Steward is responsible for supporting data management activities across Personal and Private Banking (PPB) by ensuring high-quality, reliable, and timely data is sourced from Golden Sources and made available through the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and various Lines of Business. The role focuses on data analysis, data profiling, data ingestion, validation, stewardship, and supporting Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) initiatives. The incumbent works closely with business and technical teams to streamline the data ingestion pipeline and improve data provisioning processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed data analysis within data collection, ingestion, and DaaS environments
• Perform data profiling to understand source data characteristics, relationships, and quality
• Analyse data flows and troubleshoot issues impacting ingestion or quality
• Document findings and translate them into technical specifications for downstream data processes
• Engage business stakeholders to extract and understand data requirements
• Translate business needs into actionable analytical and technical tasks
• Identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and data gaps
• Provide data-driven recommendations for improving data provisioning, cleansing, and transformation
• Support the refinement of ingestion processes from Golden Source systems into the EDW
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Modelers, Architects, and Governance teams to ensure alignment
• Contribute to basic data solutioning and quality improvements across PPB and Wealth data pipelines

Qualifications

• Required: Advanced Diploma or National First Degree (BSc/BCom preferred) in:
• Information Systems
• Data Science
• Computer Science
• Business Analytics
• Statistics
• Or related data-focused field
