Description

The System Analyst plays a key role in maintaining, developing, and improving GIT Service Management systems. The role includes understanding business requirements, analysing system impacts, and producing technical documentation to support developers and stakeholders. The analyst ensures effective communication between business, support teams, vendors, and GIT as the single point of contact. They oversee system administration, evaluate processes, support “as is” and “to be” documentation, and ensure systems align with ITIL frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, update, and support the Service Management system and departmental systems, acting as the single point of contact across teams
• Design, develop, test, and implement enhancements for the GIT Service Management system (SysAid)
• Analyse and document “as is” and “to be” processes, identifying changes needed for migration
• Review system/database specifications, apply ITIL principles, and ensure data integrity and compliance
• Support information security implementations, monitor performance, and assist with diagnosing system issues

Qualifications

• Matric / SAQA Equivalent (Essential)
• Relevant ITIL certification and/or accreditation (Essential)
• 1–3 years’ experience in IT Service Management, including managing and operating service management functions
• Experience with UML designs and/or IBMi/SQL (Advantageous)
