Description

The Software Quality Engineer (SQE) will strengthen the organisation’s QA capability by evaluating, implementing, and optimising technical tools and frameworks across the QA Execution environment. This role focuses on assessing current and future QA technologies, running Proof of Concepts, and driving improvements that enhance automation, Non‑Functional Testing, DevOps integration, and overall QA engineering practices. They will also contribute to establishing best‑practice QA engineering standards, supporting tool implementation, and enabling the adoption of modern testing frameworks in a primarily Java‑based environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and foster deep relationship with Peers, Subject Matter Experts, Developers, Product Owner and other Stakeholders through transparent communication which align to the Nedbank Values
• Work closely with Quality Assurance Leads, Practise Leads, Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, Product Owner and other Stakeholders to meet the expectations of our clients
• Liaise with Stakeholders across Group Technology to build a network that will align to nWoW Evaluate, assess, and recommend QA tools and frameworks to improve automation, Non‑Functional Testing, and overall QA engineering effectiveness across Web, Mobile, and API platforms

Qualifications

• Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
• BSc IT or BComm IT or similar
• ISTQB Agile Foundation
• ISTQB Advanced certification (preferred)
• Bootcamp training in Agile & DevOps
• Total number of years of experience:3 - 6 years Management experience as part of the above years:No experience required Type of experience:Test analysis & design experience
• Test automation experience
• Development experience
• Experience in Agile delivery and exposure to Test Driven Development, Behaviour Driven Development in a continuous delivery model
• Experience in NFT
• Ability to understand and interpret logical solution architecture
• Understanding of DevOps pipelines & tools
