The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program offers an opportunity for the next generation of leaders committed to driving sustainable change and community-led development in Africa. The program empowers young people, particularly women, refugees, internally displaced persons, and individuals with disabilities, by providing access to high-quality education and tailored support. This comprehensive program equips scholars to become transformative leaders who will contribute to inclusive socio-economic change in Africa.

Responsibilities

• Participate actively in all program activities, including leadership development, community engagement, and career transition support
• Collaborate with community partners to address critical social and environmental issues
• Engage in personal development programs such as GradStart, orientation events, and well-being initiatives
• Utilize the opportunities provided by the program to develop skills and voice for meaningful impact in their communities

Qualifications

• Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to driving change through sustainable leadership and community-led development in Africa
• Priority is given to women, refugees, internally displaced people, and persons with disabilities
• Applicants should show academic excellence and leadership potential
• Must be eligible to attend UBC and demonstrate financial need
