About

Description

The MQA is offering 500 bursaries for 2026—430 for unemployed and 70 for employed individuals in the mining sector. Applicants must be South African citizens studying or planning to study mining-related fields at public institutions. Unemployed bursars must be financially needy and pursuing undergraduate studies, while employed bursars must work in the sector and not be on other MQA programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure you are a South African citizen
  • Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
  • Apply for or be registered in an undergraduate programme in a mining-related field (postgraduate studies are not funded)
  • Enroll at a public University, University of Technology, or TVET College in South Africa
  • Remain unemployed throughout the duration of your studies
  • Provide proof of financial need, with a household income not exceeding R600 000 per year (this will be verified by MQA)
