Description

The 2026 Absa Fellowship Programme is now open for applications, running from September 1 to 10. The program aims to foster entrepreneurship and leadership among young talent, equipping them with the skills to drive growth and innovation in Africa. The program requires applicants to be first-year undergraduate students at a public university in South Africa, pursuing a degree in Commerce, Humanities and Social Sciences, Science, technology, engineering and mathematics, Creative arts, or Digital/Data design.

Responsibilities

  • Commit to being a full-time first-year undergraduate student at a public university in South Africa in 2026
  • Maintain an academic pass mark of 65% or higher throughout the bursary period
  • Take part in the leadership, entrepreneurship, and mentoring initiatives offered by the Fellowship
  • Represent Absa professionally as a changemaker in their community and academic space

Qualifications

  • Grade 12
  • Must be a South African student enrolling as a first-year undergraduate at a public university in 2026 pursuing a degree in one of the following:
  • Commerce
  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics – including Health Sciences, but excluding Medical and Veterinary Studies)
  • Creative Arts
  • Digital/Data Design
