Description

A financial aid scheme for unemployed learners to cover expenses for the 2026 academic year in transport-related qualifications and Sectoral Priority Occupations. It covers tuition, accommodation, transport, books, and meals.

Responsibilities

  • The recipient's primary responsibility is to be a student and successfully pursue their academic qualification

Qualifications

  • Must be a South African citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Must apply only for the specific qualifications listed in the advertisement
  • Must be a student pursuing an academic qualification
  • Total household income must not exceed R350,000 per annum
  • Must be registering for the first time at a public or private university for an undergraduate qualification, or at a public TVET college for a National Certificate (Vocational)
  • Must be from a previously disadvantaged background, demonstrate potential, and have a minimum pass mark of 40%
  • Hold a valid Private Pilot License (PPL) when applying for Commercial Pilot Training
  • Hold a valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) when applying for an Instructor’s or Instrument Rating
  • Hold a valid CPL, Instructor’s Rating, and Instrument Rating when applying for an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL)
