The Labour Centre in Tzaneen is seeking a Senior Certificate and a 3 year recognized qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronic Engineering. A valid driver's license is required, along with knowledge of department policies, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations (21), South African National Standards (Codes), Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, and Unemployment Insurance Act. Skills include facilitation, planning, organizing, computer literacy, interpersonal skills, conflict handling, negotiation, problem-solving, interviewing, presentation, innovation, analytical, and communication skills.
The duties of the position include planning and independently conducting inspections to ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Act 85 of 1993, Regulations, and incorporated Standards, confirming registration with the Unemployment Insurance Act and the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, investigating and finalizing incidents and complaints, and enforcing as necessary. The role also involves planning proactive inspections to monitor compliance with relevant Labour legislation, analyzing the impact of legislation, and contributing to planning, drafting, and maintaining regional inspection plans and reports.
