Description

The Metacom Foundation is offering bursaries to previously disadvantaged female students pursuing studies in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or related fields within the Western Cape province. The bursary covers full tuition, accommodation, transport, and daily essentials, and provides personal and professional support through a “big sister” initiative, along with health and wellness guidance to ensure academic success. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong academic record throughout the duration of their studies
• Attend all classes and fulfill course requirements to ensure successful completion of their degree
• Participate in the “big sister” initiative, which involves receiving guidance from industry professionals and previous bursary recipients
• Engage in personal guidance, health, and wellness sessions offered by the foundation
• Attend interviews or meetings with foundation representatives as necessary

Qualifications

• South African female of color, aged 18-27
• Currently in or completed Matric
• Enrolled or intending to study towards a Bachelor’s degree in ICT or a related field (eg Computer Science, Electrical Engineering)
• Studying or accepted at a recognized, accredited public tertiary institution within the Western Cape
• Strong academic record and demonstrated financial need, with potential and ambition
