Description

The City of Polokwane invites suitably qualified and deserving students to apply for the 2026 Bursary Programme. This bursary aims to support youth from Polokwane who wish to pursue tertiary studies but lack the financial means. Successful applicants will receive financial assistance towards tuition fees, study materials, and other academic expenses, subject to the municipality’s funding availability.

Responsibilities

• Maintain satisfactory academic performance for the duration of the bursary
• Submit academic progress reports or transcripts to the City of Polokwane when requested
• Use the bursary funds strictly for approved study-related expenses (e

• , tuition, books, accommodation)
• Notify the municipality immediately of any change in study course, institution, or personal circumstances
• Participate in community development initiatives or municipal projects if required after graduation
• Agree to any service contract terms, if applicable, upon completion of studies

Qualifications

• ID document (certified copy)
• Matric final results/ certificate (certified copy)
• Proof of acceptance/ provisional admission at a tertiary institution (on institutions letterhead)
• Parents or guardians ID documents/ death certificates if deceased (certified copies)
• Parents or guardians proof of income (latest payslips or letter from employer if employed, affidavit if unemployed, latest financial statements if self-employed, proof of government grant if applicable)
• Proof of residence – original and stamped (Municipal Water utility/ Bank Statement/ confirmation letter from authorized traditional leaders)
